Welcome to the Biotechnology Academy!

School starts on September 3, 2014!  In order to help inform our parents in our Biotechnology Academy community, we have set up this blog.  The Biotechnology Academy at Ballard High School is a unique academic program in the Seattle Public Schools.  In the Academy, students take three core courses together and move through the program as a cohort. These courses are english, science, and mathematics. Students participate in one integrated project each semester in the three-year program. The Academy cohorts are as follows: first year is biology; second year is chemistry; and third year is genetics.  In each cohort, there are approximately 64 students. That means there are two sections of 32 students in each.

Throughout the school year, teachers in the Academy will post updates so that parents are in the know about the goings on in each cohort.  Stay tuned!
